Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night Debuts Atop The Billboard Charts

(RTTNews) – Lady Antebellum‘s third full length album Own the Night sold 347,000 copies in its first week of release, as it debuted atop both the Billboard Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts.

It is the highest first-week sales mark for any country act since Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now album sold over a million copies last November.

Own the Night marks Lady Antebellum’s second chart topping album, as the band’s sophomore album Need You Now accomplished the feat last February, selling 481,000 copies its first week out. Lady Antebellum joins the likes of the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts as the only country artists to be able to top all genres on the Billboard charts.

Own the Night is powered by its singles, “Just a Kiss,” which made it to number one on the U.S. Country Chart and “We Owned the Night,” which peaked at number 16.
