It may not be 76 trombones and a big parade, but veteran promoter Danny Zelisko promises some outstanding music at Phoenix’ newest live music venue, The Foundry On First. His new company Danny Zelisko Presents will handle booking for the 18,000-square-foot, 1,500 capacity club located at 402 S. First St.
Zelisko unveiled his new enterprise earlier this year after stepping down as Chairman of Live Nation Southwest. “This town needed something new and interesting to happen,” he offered to the Arizona Republic.
“Nothing against anybody, really. But for years, shows have gone to this venue or that venue almost by default. Now, we have something new in the mix. I’m very excited to be in the position to bring in great national and local talent to what is going to become the best local music venue in town.”
Downtown Phoenix’ scintillating new site will open its doors for the first time with a bang during a grand opening celebration with New Orleans-based rockers Cowboy Mouth on July 9 and 10. Doors open at 7 pm, with live music starting at 8 pm nightly. Tickets are $17.00 (plus ticket convenience fees) and may be purchased in advance at www.dannyzeliskopresents.com or at the door.
