ZELISKO RECEIVES
POLLSTAR PROMOTER OF THE YEAR NOMINATION

The Danny Zelisko Presents Radio Program on KDKB Earns #1 Rating

Roger Waters On-Sale Nov. 14, Garland Jeffreys added to Jerry Riopelle’s New Year’s Eve Show

PHOENIX, AZ — Danny Zelisko (Danny Zelisko Presents) has received a nomination for Promoter of the Year from Pollstar.

“It was a really great surprise to be recognized with that nomination, especially having left Live Nation earlier this year to work very hard independently at a very turbulent time in the music business,” Zelisko said.  “It’s humbling to have that happen in the first year of being back out there.  I’m very happy.”

Zelisko also received the good news this week that his stand-out Sunday night radio show on KDKB, The Danny Zelisko Presents Radio Program, is the #1-rated show among listeners 34-54 in its time slot.  The show, which has been on the air for five years and frequently highlights artists coming to the Valley for upcoming concerts promoted by Danny Zelisko Presents, airs from 10 p.m. to Midnight every Sunday night and also streams live at www.kdkb.com.

In addition, it’s just been announced that Live Nation and DZP are teaming up again on a few shows, and they’ll bring Roger Waters to the US Airways Center on May 15, 2012.  The co-founder and principal songwriter of the archetypal progressive band Pink Floyd, Waters has announced the return of the historic production of “The Wall” to North America in 2012. His oral and visual masterpiece of alienation and transformation will be performed in its entirety featuring a full band and state-of-the-art production. “The Wall” live has played more than 120 shows around the world for more than 1.6 million fans making it one of the most successful tours of 2010. Tickets go on sale for the highly anticipated concert event on Monday, Nov. 14 at LiveNation.com.

Live Nation and DPZ are also presenting Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band at US Airways Center on Dec. 23 and at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Vegas on Dec. 30. The first leg of Seger’s 2011 Tour drew rave reviews from critics and played to over 350,000 fans.

DZP is happy to be back in the Celebrity Theatre with Tesla on Nov. 18 for its first show in the familiar facility that once housed Zelisko’s Evening Star Productions shows many years ago.

In other DZP news, the great Garland Jeffreys has just been added as a special guest on Jerry Riopelle‘s show at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix on New Year’s Eve. The Orpheum line-up is very busy with DZP presentations of John Prine and Loudon Wainwright III on Nov. 19, and Joe Bonamassa for two nights on Dec. 5 & 6.  Prine and Wainwright III will also be presented by DZP that same week in Albuquerque at Popejoy Hall, Prine’s first time there in over a decade, as well as the Fox Tucson Theatre.

Lady Antebellum storms into the new Grand Canyon University Arena Nov. 17 for DZP, which is just about sold out.  This is the arena’s first major country music presentation, and the third building that Zelisko has opened with GCU booking manager, Bob Machen.  The other two were America West Arena (now US Airways Center) and the Dodge Theatre (now Comerica Theatre).

DZP will host Johnjay and Rich Present Phooson Featuring Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, Cody Simpson, Nicole Scherzinger, One Republic, Karmin, Taio Cruz, and Gym Class Heroes at the US Airways Center on Dec. 2, along with Live Nation.

The busy week following Thanksgiving is rounded out by an appearance by Dream Theater at the Mesa Arts Center, where DZP has hosted several shows this year, one of Zelisko’s favorite halls to work and watch great performances.

Earlier this week, Zelisko received the Killing the Dragon Award at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles as part of the 1st Annual Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout at Cancer Fundraiser, along with other notables in the entertainment and medical community.  He treated the audience to a short sing-a-long and rendition of “The Man on the Silver Mountain,” one of Ronnie’s biggest songs.  Danny misses Ronnie every day and continues to push his friends and strangers alike to get checked sooner than later for cancer and other treatable diseases.
